Why Charter Pegasus ?
We understand you have a wide selection of yachts to choose from and that each of them offer something very unique. The "Pegasus 9" is no exception.
This 90ft Jet Drive Power Cat is the quintessential compromise between the elegance of a motor yacht and the performance and safety of a commercial catamaran ferry. Offering her guests three decks of luxurious indoor and outdoor living space combined with its ability to deliver them to the far reaches of the Exumas in comfort, safety and at speed.
With a maximum draft of 4.1ft (1.4m), she can explore the shallows of the Bahamas like no other yacht in her class in depths as little as 5ft. our guests can often walk around the boat while she is at anchor.
Her 2 engines deliver 4000Hp of thrust via a modern Jet drive system that accellerates her to an astonishing 33 knots with ease. Ensuring limited time at sea and more time on anchor, enjoying the warm Bahamian waters.
Starting in Nassau. The seven day cruise will take you to the following destinations.
Stanial Cay. This hollowed out cay is an exceptional snorkel spot and is the name sake and filming spot for the James Bond movie, “Thunderball”. It is also a great place to take the kayaks and paddle boards, and be sure not to leave the snorkel gear and GOPRO behind! A short ride north and you will get to Big Major. This island is home to the famous swimming pigs. You can feed them from the dinghy as they swim out to meet you. Your first night on anchor will be in the southern end of the Exumas Land and Sea Park just off the beach of Cambridge Cay.
From the south end of the Park you will arrive to some of the best snorkeling and beaches in the Caribbean. One of our favorites is a short dinghy ride through the cays to a site, named for the diverse multitude of fish, the “Aquarium”, which certainly lives up to its name. It’s a very colorful reef teeming with life in the sanctuary of the park. There are several great beaches to explore, numerous snorkeling opportunities, and, if you would like to feed the sharks at Compass Cay, you can go to its famous marina. A short trip North will take you to the Warderick Wells Land and Sea Park headquarters. The Park headquarters is located on the island of Warderick Wells and is a great place to put on your hiking shoes and explore the well-marked trails. Two points not to miss are the sperm whale skeleton and Boo Boo Hill.
There are two things the Exumas surpass almost anywhere in the Caribbean: beaches and marine life in crystal clear water. Your next stop is Hawksbill Cay. Traveling north by dinghy, you will go over to the northern cut where the landscapes open up, and for miles all you see is shallow water and white sand beaches. Many charter guests have said that all we needed to do was take them here every day and they would have been happy and content. As the tide comes and goes the sun reflects on small pools of water with ever changing contrast of blues. After lunch, you will set off to Shroud Cay.
This cay is home to a large mangrove estuary. The water enters from small creeks on the east and west. One creek is navigable. Entering it by dinghy, you will cross through the cay, navigating through the shallow winding creek. On the east side is again a beautiful beach, which on a falling tide, has a narrow cut where the falling water will rush you out to sea. A shallow delta lies just outside where the current dissipates and the water is just a couple of feet deep. Its great fun and very beautiful.
Until this point in the trip. You would have mostly been in the Park where fishing, lobstering, and conching is not allowed. By the middle of the day you will be in the perfect waters to catch a fish or lobster for dinner. For guests who are certified divers this is also a great place to dive. As you sail north, its possible for some boats to exit one of the cuts, putting you out into the deep water cruising the wall of the Exuma Sound. The drop off is an area rich in large fish. We can drop the lines in the water or get in the water for a snorkel or scuba. It’s common to catch mahi mahi, tuna, and with any luck a wahoo. Eight miles north and will arrive at Normans Cay.
Normans has a plane wreck in shallow water. Over the years it has become covered in coral but It’s a great place to snorkel. And because it is so shallow, it’s a great place for taking quality underwater pictures or video with the GO Pro. Here from the anchorage you can follow the ledges in shallow water with the dingy and free dive to catch your own lobster. It’s great to catch them but even better to serve them up on the boat as the sun sets.
The next stop along the route is Highbourne Cay. Highbourne Cay has great anchorages and also a very nice marina. By dinghy we can catch conch, scuba dive, snorkel, kayak and explore the beaches. Many guests like to stay at the dock for the night and dine at one of the best restaurants in the Bahamas. “Exumas” restaurant has an outstanding view and some of the best food and service in all the Bahamas.
Allen’s Cay is actually several cays which form a protected lagoon. In the morning, the captain will anchor in very shallow water just off the beach. Two of the islands are home to endangered iguanas. They like to be fed, so take them a little fresh fruit. It’s a great photo opportunity! During the afternoon you will stop at Ships Channel Cay for another snorkel and lobster opportunity. If you like, a bon fire on the beach can be arranged. Or you could sail Further North, closer to Nassau for an evening out on the town.
If choosing the former, sailing northwest, we’ll travel 38 miles back to Nassau across the Yellow Bank. The bank is shallow and midway has many coral heads. In calm weather it’s nice to stop and have a final snorkel on one of the many coral heads. If you are lucky to find conch, the chef will make a nice conch salad on the way back.
One thing is certain. Pegasus and her crew will get you closer to all the points of interest and in shallower waters than any other Motor yacht in her class. And thats a promise !

CAPTAIN - WARREN EAST
MCA MASTER 3000 YACHT CAPTAIN. Warrens dedication to providing an exceptional vacation and service has been proven time and time again with the great references his past guests have given since he became a charter yacht captain in 1996
His experience and qualifications include:
Maritime Coastguard Agency and Marshal islands Master 3000 captain's license, Padi Divemaster, acclaimed photographer and drone pilot. He has completed more than 500 successful charters in destinations worldwide since 1995. including extensive cruising in the Bahamas where he has been based aboard Pegasus since 2016. He and his Wife, Elizabeth lee, also own their own 85ft yacht which they have successfully established as a charter yacht in Turkey and the Greek Islands since 2011. As of Jan 2017, Warren has logged 555,000 nautical miles at sea.
His experience in the industry, combined with his dedication to exceptional service and the delivery of a 1st class charter, makes him a great choice as captain for Pegasus IX.
CHEF - ELIZABETH LEE
Chef Elizabeth graduated from Kelowna University of Culinary Arts in 2001. She worked as sous Chef at a five star, fine dining, Italian Restaurant in Whistler, British Columbia’s premier ski resort. Following this she made the move into the yachting sector and quickly progressed to become a renowned chef in the industry. As a yacht chef Elizabeth won various competitions throughout the Caribbean and Mediteranian, including Concours de Chef and Chef of the Year in the prestigious St Martin, Antigua and more recently the Marmaris charter yacht show.
In 2006, Elizabeth teamed up with Warren and together they successfully operated both a 73ft catamaran and a 98ft catamaran for seven years. This experience, which introduced her to many cultural elements around the world, inspired her to raise the bar and augment her repertoire by studying multinational styles of cuisine and "haute" and "nouvelle" cuisine including sous vide and molecular gastronomy. She enthusiastically demonstrates her talents wherever and on whatever she sails.
In 2008, Elizabeth followed in her mother's footsteps and began writing her own cookbook titled “ Made With Love”. The recipe book is comprised of dozens of wonderful dishes, illustrated through an array of stunning photographs taken by Warren.
As Chef aboard Pegasus 9 , Elizabeth serves her guests a tantalizing selection of her gourmet creations, made with only the finest and freshest ingredients purchased in fresh markets and prepared according to guests’ appetites and preferences.

VICKY LEAL - STEWARDESS.
Vicky graduated in Tourism and Hotel Management in 2003 at Curitiba College, Brazil. She worked as an English teacher and environmental educator during college but her will to explore the world and to work in the Tourism industry made her join a cruise line where she worked as a cocktail waitress for a season and made her way out of Brazil and into the world.
After the cruise ship experience Vicky went to Palma de Mallorca where she fell in love with the yacht industry since it has everything to do with her passion for hospitality and travelling. She’s been working on board various types of yachts around the world since 2007 as a stewardess/deckhand and has been learning a lot about service and hospitality through her working experiences and courses she has been taking to improve her skills and knowledge. All these experiences are very important to her since she will be managing her own boutique hotel in Brazil in the future.
Vicky met Warren and Elizabeth in 2008 and worked as a team on board a sailing catamaran in Europe and in the Caribbean. It was a great match and now they are back together as the Pegasus IX crew.
Our stewardess is very passionate about her profession and will make sure you will have the best time on board always with a smile on her face and very attentive to your needs. Everything she does is with love and care, looking for our guests’ satisfaction, good times and smiles.

Trained in British Columbia, she has progressed from fine dining resturaunts in Whistler to yachting in 2003 and has traveled the world aboard private and charter yachts, honing her skills and developing her repetoir of classical local dishes and fusing them to create beautifully presented, outstandingly delicious works of art.
For Elizabeth, Cooking and serving her guests is her life and the ongoing creation of her book " Made With Love" is a testement to that
